Bethany Picone is an abstract artist living in the Bay Area of California. She graduated with a BA from Westmont College in Studio Art in 2009. She is currently an MFA candidate at Azusa Pacific University, set to complete her degree July of 2016.
Growing up, Bethany spent much of her free time creating things from sewing her own dolls to whittling sculptures out of balsa wood. She never thought anything of it until she took a painting class her junior year of high school. From there she realized that she had a serious passion for art and pursued her degree in studio art in college.
After college, Bethany worked as a Display Artist at Anthropologie and taught art at Oaks Christian School while simultaneously pursuing her MFA.
Most recently, Picone had a solo exhibition titled “Rind Cloud” at Heritage Gallery in Azusa, CA in 2016. In 2015, she took part in the group shows “Camouflage” at Robert Bullock Gallery in Azusa, CA and “Recolor Recover” at Exhale Unlimited Gallery in Los Angeles, CA. She was selected for a solo art exhibition titled “Somatic Substratum: Physical human interaction as foundation for life” at Exit Gallery in Azusa, CA in 2014.
Her work is in private collections throughout the United States.
